SRTM Mentoring Program

mentoringThe South River Toastmasters Mentoring Program is designed to bring together experienced, knowledgeable and helpful Toastmasters with guests and new members in an effort to create first and foremost a friendly atmosphere and secondly to help each other improve and grow.
 
The SRTM mentoring program works by pairing guests and new members, the mentee, with an experienced Toastmaster, the mentor. The mentor – mentee relationship provides an opportunity for experienced Toastmasters to teach and demonstrate to the mentee about the Toastmasters organization and its programs to better enrich their Toastmasters experience.
 
Through our mentoring program, a mentor has the tools necessary to assist mentees with not only understanding weekly meeting procedures but also participating in SRTM weekly meetings with confidence.
 
The mentor is responsible for spending time with his or her mentee, sharing advise, demonstrating the proper ways to perform roles and offering essential feedback to the mentee. 

The ultimate goal of the mentoring program is to improve both the Toastmastering skills of both the mentor and the mentee.

SRTM MENTORING MANUAL

If you are feeling lost on what SRTM’s Mentoring Program is all about, the officer’s at SRTM have taken the initative to create a mentoring manual that clearly explains the process.   This newly drafted guide is internally created by SRTM.  We hope this valuable document will assist you as you progress in the mentoring program. 

FIND YOUR MENTOR / MENTEE

South River will continuously endeavor to match mentees to appropriate mentors.  The officers have created an online document that shows current mentor – mentee pairings.  This online list aids officers in equally distributing mentees among all the mentors in the program.   It will be updated on regular basis.
